Facebook Blues

Got hundreds of friends who like to stay in touch,
Would have many more, ‘cept I don’t like ’em all that much
I search for more names whenever I’ve time,
Update my status, whenever I’m inclined

Well, I’ve got the blues, Facebook blues,
The social media bug done bit me,
Now I’m friends with all the world,
I’ve got the blues

Many Facebook posts are really quite inane
If I believed them all, I’d probably go insane
Plenty of photos that give me quite a kick,
Enough political comments to make me sick

I’ve got the blues…

Some folks believe I’m only wasting time,
Don’t post for myself, but for a Friend of mine
Jesus’ told us, fill the earth with His Word,
So I’ll write and I’ll post, and not be deterred

Won’t write of Obama, or guns, guns, guns
I’ll write of God’s love for His daughters and sons
Friends and family, I’ll tell ’em one and all
With an encouraging word posted on their wall…

Some may ignore me and the hope that I bear,
Others will “like”, receive the Love I share
Gonna use these tools for more than recipes
Gotta give the world Jesus, He’s all the Hope we need…

Well, I’ve got the blues, Facebook blues,
The social media bug done bit me,
Now I’m friends with all the world,
I’ve got The blues

The social media bug done bit me,
Now I’m tellin’ all the world,
I’ve got Good News
